Regarding Photos

Ok, so I'm a little confused about the Blogger photo uploading process. Uploading photos from my computer is easy enough, but what if I want to share images that are already in my Picasa database?

I guess for most people, uploading images from the computer is the preferred method. All you have to do is click on the little "add image" icon in the post composition window, click the "browse" button in the popup window, and use your system's file browser to locate an image of your choice. This is fine for Joe point-and-shoot, but its limitation seems to be its one-at-a-time approach.

What about the person who wants to share a lot of photos? What about the person who already has an extensive Picasa collection? Aye, there's the rub. It is difficult to link Picasa pictures to Blogger posts. In the post composition window, there is no option to browse Picasa photos, even though the two services interact. When you use the one-at-a-time computer upload method in Blogger, copies of these photos are automatically added to Picasa. But this is a one-way trip. There is no easy way to move pictures in the opposite direction. To do so requires HTML tag wizardry and sacrifices Blogger's nice formatting options.

Of course, I'm probably wrong. I hope someone will correct me.

Sadly I can't correct you. I don't know of a way to do it, but I do seem to remember that in the early version of Picasa there was a way of uploading multiple pictures to Blogger in on upload (it not in separate posts which I find a bit anoying).

I think it might have been called `Hello'. But that possibly has been killed off.

My reason for commenting is that yes I do indeed run full working order Picasa on my mac! Sweet. It still has a few flaws, but is never the less practical, though I did purchase a piece of specialist software called CrossOver.

But it's well worth it.
