Our South Florida Vacation.

We just got back from South Florida. We had a great time. Thanks to everyone who made this trip so great especially Lyla's aunt and uncle, Stan and Mary. Thanks Jess and Rob for letting us crash at your place. Thank you Salina and Kiki for putting us up in Tallahassee. Check out the slideshow.

My new website

Check out my new website jasonmconrad.com. I plan to put professional stuff over there and keep this blog more or less informal.

The original track

This is how the track looks in Matchmover. Pretty solid, right?

Matchmoving woes.

I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure out what's causing the slippage in this match-move. The tracking is rock solid in RVMM, but when I go to composite in C4D, everything's wacky. I could try to 2d comp entirely in Shake, but I'm not sure if that route is promising or efficient.

Regarding Photos

Ok, so I'm a little confused about the Blogger photo uploading process. Uploading photos from my computer is easy enough, but what if I want to share images that are already in my Picasa database?

I guess for most people, uploading images from the computer is the preferred method. All you have to do is click on the little "add image" icon in the post composition window, click the "browse" button in the popup window, and use your system's file browser to locate an image of your choice. This is fine for Joe point-and-shoot, but its limitation seems to be its one-at-a-time approach.

What about the person who wants to share a lot of photos? What about the person who already has an extensive Picasa collection? Aye, there's the rub. It is difficult to link Picasa pictures to Blogger posts. In the post composition window, there is no option to browse Picasa photos, even though the two services interact. When you use the one-at-a-time computer upload method in Blogger, copies of these photos are automatically added to Picasa. But this is a one-way trip. There is no easy way to move pictures in the opposite direction. To do so requires HTML tag wizardry and sacrifices Blogger's nice formatting options.

Of course, I'm probably wrong. I hope someone will correct me.

Hello world.

The name for this blog is one which I chose at random. "Enplane" is just a short word. It is just a word heretofore unclaimed within the blogspot DNS. It is also a word which people seldom use. While the correlation between these facts might not be interesting, I think that the word's under-use *is* interesting. People do not "enplane" their luggage, they "check" it. People do not "enplane" as often as they "board" an aircraft. With all of the media attention that airlines receive these days, this oversight seems peculiar.

As far as this blog's raison d'être, it's basically just a place for me to put stuff. It has nothing to do with airplanes. Mostly, it's a place for me to collect notes on the applications I use. When I learn something new about Zbrush, Cinema 4D, Modo, or Final Cut, I'll post it here. But it's also likely that I'll post vacation photos and the usual blog fare here as well.
